HOST FAMILIES
The host families selected for this project in Ghana, West Africa, are generally warm and hospitable. They represent the average ideal Ghanaian homes. Each host family has a parent who is a professional in a particular vocation or practical field of life.

Foreign visitors who will want to be hosted especially by their counterpart professionals in Ghana should state clearly in their registration or placement forms their specific areas of interest and choice. This arrangement may be of a great advantage to some of our professional foreign guests especially researchers since they may have common ideas and experiences to share with the host families in Ghana.

The host families are either of upper, middle or lower class levels who can easily communicate with the visitors in a common language. They can provide acceptable food, drinks, convenient sleeping places, and modern waste disposal facilities. They also provide information on what to do, when to do and where to do. In addition, they contribute to the assurance of security of the foreign visitors and their properties. They also enhance their social support to their role as keepers of home away from home.
